Greetings! My name is Abdool Sattur, and I proudly hail from the heart of the Essequibo region, specifically Old Road Greenwich, Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated miner, I spend my days exploring the rich landscapes of Guyana, often reflecting on the beauty of our rivers, like the Pom River, and the vibrant life that thrives along them. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and the sounds of nature has forged a deep connection to this land, one that I carry with me, whether I am here or in the diaspora.
My roots run deep in the rich cultural heritage of Guyana. I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine, from the comforting taste of pepperpot during festivities to the sweet relief of a freshly baked black cake. The spirit of our people, vibrant and resilient, resonates in every gathering, whether celebrating Mashramani or simply sharing stories under the stars. Through these experiences, I feel a sense of belonging that transcends borders, connecting me with fellow Guyanese around the world.
