Hello! I’m Abdool Sattaur, currently residing in the beautiful community of Coast 45 Adventure in Essequibo, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in the rich and diverse culture of Guyana, a land where the aroma of pepper pot fills the air and the vibrant sounds of our festivals echo through the streets. I take great pride in sharing our culinary delights, especially when it comes to enjoying a hearty meal of duck curry or curry with rice, often accompanied by the famous slice bread that brings a taste of home to every gathering.
Growing up in Guyana has shaped my perspective on life and community. Here, we celebrate our diverse heritage, from the stories of the Indentured Indians to the rhythms of our Amerindian ancestors. I often connect with fellow Guyanese, whether it’s through laughter about how we pronounce our unique landmarks or sharing memories of our homeland with those in the diaspora.
