Greetings! I’m Abdool Khan, a proud mason residing in the vibrant community of Bank Essequibo along the picturesque Railway Embankment in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots trace back to the rich cultural heritage of Guyana, where the warmth of our people and the lush landscapes feel like home. Growing up here, I’ve been inspired by the stunning sights of the Pomeroon River and the aroma of our local dishes, from pepperpot to cook-up rice, which remind me of family gatherings and the vibrant celebrations of our festivals.
As a mason, I take immense pride in my craft, building not just structures but also lasting connections within my community. There’s something special about the camaraderie we share; whether we're working on a new construction or enjoying a chat over a plate of dhal puri and curry, the spirit of togetherness shines through. I often reminisce about the stories passed down through generations, celebrating both our Indigenous roots and the diverse cultures that contribute to our unique Guyanese identity.
Though I currently call Guyana home, I cherish the ties I have with the Guyanese diaspora abroad.
