Hello! My name is Abdool Azim, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home, specifically in the vibrant Henrietta Housing area of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Here, the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage remind me daily of the warmth and resilience of our people. Growing up surrounded by the beauty of Pom River and the laughter of community gatherings, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our local traditions, from enjoying a plate of pepperpot during the holidays to sharing stories of our ancestors by the riverside.
As a resident of this unique region, I am committed to highlighting the incredible diversity that defines Guyana. My experiences have taught me the value of community and the strength found in our connections to each other, especially among the diaspora. Whether it’s through sharing a meal of metemgee or participating in lively discussions about our future, I believe in fostering unity and understanding among all Guyanese, both at home and abroad.
