Greetings from the lush landscapes of Essequibo! My name is Abdool Khan, and I proudly call Block 8 in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a labourer, I engage in the hard work that keeps our beautiful region thriving, from the rich fields of rice and sugar cane to the vibrant markets where we share our local produce and crafts. There's nothing quite like the taste of freshly fried fish and pepperpot to remind me of home, as the aromas of our beloved Guyanese cuisine fill the air.
Growing up near the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, I have built a deep connection to the land and its people. From the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls, which we lovingly pronounce "kai-chore," to the colorful festivals that celebrate our diverse heritage, my experiences have shaped who I am. The warmth of our community reflects in our traditions, music, and shared stories, whether it’s gathering for Phagwah or sharing a cup of sweet black tea with neighbors. Even though many of us are now part of the diaspora, we carry a piece of Guyana wherever we go.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
