Greetings from Essequibo! My name is Abdool Abass, and I proudly call Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Nestled in the heart of Guyana, this region is known for its rich natural beauty, vibrant culture, and, of course, the famous Pomeroon River. As we look towards the future, with Guyana projected to be the 4th highest oil-producing country in the world by 2024, I am excited about the opportunities that await us and the positive changes they will bring to our communities.
Growing up here, I’ve relished traditional dishes like pepperpot and metemgee, which are staples of our festive gatherings. The warmth of my community is reflected in our celebrations and the bonds we share. Whether it's a happy New Year greeting or taking time to enjoy the serenity of the Essequibo River, these moments are what truly define our Guyanese spirit.
