Greetings from Essequibo! My name is Abdul Ghanie, and I am a proud welder from Good Hope on the East Bank of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up in Guyana, I have witnessed the resilience and determination of our people firsthand. From our vibrant festivals to the rich flavors of our cuisine, such as the beloved pepperpot and mouthwatering roti, our culture is a beautiful blend of influences that reflect our unique history.
As I work in my craft, I often find inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounds us, including the lush landscapes and the majestic rivers that crisscross our land. I share a deep connection with many in the Guyanese diaspora, who, despite being miles away, celebrate our heritage through storytelling, food, and community events. It fills me with gratitude to see how far we’ve come, rebuilding and transforming Guyana into a flourishing place. The progress we've made is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all Guyanese, both at home and abroad.
