Growing up near landmarks like the mighty Mount Roraima, I have developed a profound appreciation for our natural beauty and heritage. It’s often said that you can’t find real cassareep anywhere but in Guyana, and I can attest to the joy of sharing our traditional dishes with friends and family, even if that means resorting to creative substitutes when abroad. In the diaspora, we often find ourselves longing for those simple pleasures, but the spirit of togetherness always brings us back.
