Greetings! I’m Alana La Rose, a proud farmer based in the picturesque Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, specifically residing at Coast 287 Brummel Street. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where I cultivate not only crops but also strong connections within my community. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and the gentle flow of the Pomeroon River reminds me daily of the richness of our heritage. I draw inspiration from the local culture, whether it’s the hustle and bustle of the market in Anna Regina or the serene beauty of the waterways that shape our lives.
As a farmer, I embrace traditional practices while also looking toward sustainable methods to ensure that our land thrives for generations to come. The flavors of our local dishes—like pepperpot, cook-up rice, and fresh cassava—are a testament to the diverse influences that have shaped our culinary identity. Every harvest gives me the opportunity to share these tastes and foster a sense of community, whether through family gatherings or local markets.
