Hello! My name is Aldrin Benjamin, and I proudly hail from the vibrant Essequibo Coast, specifically the Dageraad Housing area in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this lush region, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, from savoring delicious roti (not rodi!) and curry to gathering with family and friends at the many local festivities that celebrate our diverse heritage. Whether it’s a relaxing day by the river or sharing stories about our beloved Essequibo, I cherish the connections that bind us together as Guyanese.
As a resident of Guyana, I am passionate about fostering a sense of community both locally and among the diaspora. I believe that our experiences, whether we are in Guyana or abroad, shape our identity. I’ve seen firsthand how the challenges and triumphs of living here resonate with Guyanese around the world.
