Hello! My name is Alex Balrup, and I proudly call Essequibo my home. Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’m surrounded by the lush beauty of our rivers and vibrant communities. I find joy in the simple pleasures of life here, whether it’s taking a stroll along the Pomeroon River or sharing a meal of pepperpot with family and friends during the holidays. Our local cuisine, from the rich flavors of the Guyanese curry to the mouthwatering freshness of our fish, truly reflects the warmth and hospitality of our culture.
As a resident of Block 8 New, I’ve seen our community grow while maintaining its unique charm. The lively spirit of our cricket games and the camaraderie among neighbors remind me of the strong ties we share, not just here but with fellow Guyanese across the globe.
