Hello! I’m Alice Fredericks, a proud resident of Pomona in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of this incredible country has shaped who I am today. From indulging in the rich flavors of our famous pepper roti and curry to celebrating our diverse festivals, every experience is a reminder of the warmth and spirit of our multiracial society. Guyana, with its colonial past and rich traditions, has so much to offer, and I’m excited to share it with the world.
In my daily life, I enjoy exploring our local markets, where the aromas of fresh fruits and spices fill the air, and taking in the scenic views along the Essequibo River. I often reminisce about the bustling streets of Georgetown—yes, we all know it can be a bit messy, but it’s home, and it’s full of life! Whether it’s the sounds of Calypso music or the sight of our beautiful national bird, the Hoatzin, every moment here feels special. I take pride in being part of the diaspora community as we connect over our shared experiences and the stories that define us.
