Hello! I’m Alicia Mahadeo, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of this area has shaped who I am today. From the sweet taste of fresh pommerac to the picturesque views along the Essequibo River, my roots are deeply embedded in the rich traditions of Guyana. Whether it's celebrating Mashramani with family or enjoying a Sunday cook-up with friends, I cherish the moments that connect us all as Guyanese.
Living here has given me a unique perspective on the challenges and joys of our community. I believe in the importance of personal responsibility, especially when it comes to keeping our surroundings clean. As I often remind those around me, while government issues do exist, it's our collective duty to take pride in our environment—after all, we are the ones who shape our neighborhoods. I’m passionate about engaging with my community and fostering a sense of unity, because at the end of the day, we are all in this together.
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I also stay connected to those who have moved abroad, sharing stories and experiences that bridge our worlds.
