Greetings! My name is Alim Mohamed, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. As a mechanic, I dedicate my skills to ensuring that the engines of our local community keep running smoothly, just like the vibrant life that flows through the rivers of Pomeroon-Supenaam. When I'm not under the hood of a car, you can often find me enjoying delicious local dishes like pepperpot and metemgee, or sharing stories with neighbors about the beautiful legacy of our homeland.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, from the lush landscapes of the Upper Pomeroon River to the lively atmosphere of St. Monica. I love connecting with our diaspora community, whether it’s hearing a fellow Guyanese share their experiences abroad, or receiving messages of love from friends in places like Ghana, who admire the spirit and resilience of our people. We may be far from home, but the bond we share is as strong as the aroma of a well-seasoned cook-up rice on a Sunday afternoon.
As we strive for progress and growth in our nation, I believe in the power of community and hard work. Our challenges are many, but so are our strengths. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
