Hello! I'm Alissa Ally, a proud resident of Regina Essequibo Coast, located in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant cultures of Guyana, I cherish the memories of fishing along the Essequibo River and savoring delicious homemade dishes, especially the salt fish and bake that my family loves to whip up on special occasions. My heart swells with nostalgia every time I see a snow cone vendor or bite into an eggball, bringing back flavors of home that are hard to forget.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I feel a deep connection to my roots. Whether it's reminiscing about lively gatherings filled with laughter and the aroma of curry in the air or sharing stories with friends in the community, my cultural heritage plays a significant role in my identity. I often connect with others who share my love for Guyanese food and traditions, and I am always eager to share a recipe or two.
