Greetings! My name is Allison Felix, and I proudly call Essequibo A64 Vergenoegen East in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana my home. Growing up amidst the vibrant communities and lush landscapes of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, from the spicy aroma of pepperpot simmering on the stove to the soothing sounds of the rainforests that surround us. My roots here are what keep me grounded, reminding me daily of the warmth and authenticity that we, as Guyanese, carry with us wherever we go.
As a resident of this diverse nation, I cherish the connections I have fostered with my neighbors, whose genuine kindness stands in stark contrast to the coldness I sometimes encounter in the diaspora.
