Greetings! I’m Alphonso Jocintho, a proud son of Guyana, currently residing in Bowman, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the vibrant cultures of our people converge. Growing up, I was surrounded by the rich flavors of our culinary heritage—whether it was savoring curry chicken (not chicken curry, of course!), enjoying a plate of cook-up rice, or indulging in delicious puluriballs with sour. These dishes are more than just food; they embody the warmth of family gatherings and the spirit of my diverse heritage, which includes Indian, Portuguese, and Indigenous influences.
Living in Bowman has given me a unique perspective on the beauty and challenges of our community.
