Hello! I’m Alvin Bacchus, a proud resident of the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region in Guyana. Nestled along the vibrant Coast 4 Public Road in Mocha, I embrace the rich cultural diversity that characterizes our nation. As a true Guyanese, I cherish our history, our people, and our incredible natural landscapes, from the lush forests to the meandering rivers like the Pom River and Kairimap Creek. Our country may be small, but it’s bursting with life and potential, especially now as we experience an exciting economic boom driven by oil and natural resources.
Growing up in Guyana, food has always been a cornerstone of our culture. Whether it's sharing a hot plate of pepperpot during Christmas or breaking a piece of bread to dip into the flavorful meat dishes, our culinary traditions bring us together. I find joy in the simple pleasures, like enjoying a delicious meal with friends and family, reminiscing about the beauty of our homeland, and celebrating the connections we share both locally and in the diaspora.
