Hello! My name is Alyssa Gibson, and I proudly call Essequibo 346 New Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up in this vibrant region of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage, which is a beautiful blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences. Whether it's the sweet aroma of pepperpot wafting through the air during the holidays or the rhythmic sounds of our local music during a lively lime, these experiences have shaped who I am today.
I’m also passionate about engaging with the Guyanese diaspora, as I understand the unique connection we all share, no matter where we are in the world. I love hearing stories from fellow Guyanese, like those from my husband's family who have settled in the U.S., and how they embrace our culture through food and traditions.
