Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I cherish the moments spent savoring traditional dishes like metemgee and pepperpot, which remind me of family gatherings and the warmth of our community. Whether I’m enjoying a hearty meal or reminiscing about the serene beauty of Myrie Island, my heart is always anchored in the rich heritage of Guyana.
As someone who has roots deeply embedded in our beautiful land, I understand the unique blend of cultures that make up our Guyanese identity. From the rhythmic beats of chutney music to the lively celebrations of Mashramani, I love sharing our culture with others, especially fellow Guyanese abroad who can relate to the joys and quirks of our upbringing.
