Hello! I’m Amal Doodhnauth, proud to call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Growing up near the Lower Pom River, I have always been surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture that define our beloved country. Whether it’s the rich flavors of our local dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice or the lively rhythms of our festivals, my heart is deeply rooted in the traditions that make Guyana unique.
As a part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we maintain with each other and our homeland, often reminiscing about the warmth of our communities and the resilience of our people. It’s fascinating how places like New Orleans evoke memories of home, with their lively neighborhoods reflecting our own spirit. I believe that sharing our experiences enriches our identity and strengthens our bonds, whether through conversations or our delicious culinary heritage.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
