Hello! I’m Amanda McDonald, a proud police officer serving the vibrant community of East Bank Essequibo in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful country, where the rich blend of cultures—from Indigenous to East Indian, African, and European—shapes our daily lives. Whether it’s enjoying the invigorating flavors of duck curry or sharing stories about our beloved River Massarie Island, I take great pride in being a part of a nation that celebrates its diversity.
As I walk the streets of my hometown, I am constantly reminded of the warmth and camaraderie that connects us all. From sharing meals with friends to engaging in spirited discussions about our heritage, there’s always something to celebrate in Guyana. The joy I feel when I see our culture being recognized globally is unmatched, even if it sometimes means laughing at the mispronunciations of our unique place names!
Outside of my duties in law enforcement, I cherish my connections with the Guyanese diaspora, who continue to represent our culture with pride around the world. I believe in the power of community and the strength we draw from each other, no matter where we are. 💪🏿🇬🇾
