Hello! I’m Amanda Persaud, a proud resident of Essequibo 21 Sideline Dam in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My heart is intertwined with the lush landscapes and vibrant communities that define our homeland. Growing up near iconic spots like the Yarashirima Settlement and the Ykinipa Mainland, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage, from the warm smiles of my neighbors to the colorful markets filled with fresh produce and spices.
As a passionate advocate for Guyanese culture, I cherish our delectable local dishes that remind me of home, especially when I think of the unforgettable flavors of cook-up rice and pepperpot. Like many of my fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, I often find myself reminiscing about family gatherings where good food and laughter fill the air. I can't wait to return and savor those cherished meals again, sharing stories and laughter with loved ones, just as we did back in the day.
Through my work and community involvement, I strive to connect with both local and international Guyanese, fostering a sense of belonging and unity.
