Hello! I’m Amar Persaud, a carpenter from the beautiful region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, where the lush landscapes and vibrant communities shape my everyday life. Growing up surrounded by the mighty Pomeroon River, I've always felt a deep connection to my roots. Whether it's sharing stories at the local market or enjoying a delicious plate of fried rice and shrimp, my heart is firmly planted in the culture that has been passed down through generations.
As a proud Guyanese, I carry my heritage with me wherever I go, whether I’m crafting furniture with local wood or reminiscing about the bustling streets of Georgetown. The diaspora connection is strong, and I cherish every opportunity to engage with fellow Guyanese, whether it’s through sharing culinary experiences like doubles or discussing the rich history of our beloved Esequibo. Just like many of us, I often find myself reflecting on the complexities of our homeland while being a part of a wider, loving community.
