Hello! I’m Amber Calistro, a proud resident of River Macaseema, Kabakaburi, located in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has shaped who I am today. The rich cultural heritage of our people, from our delicious pepperpot to the lively rhythms of chutney and soca music, fills my life with joy and connection. I cherish the stories exchanged over a plate of metemgee and salara, creating bonds that transcend borders, especially with our diaspora family in places like NYC.
As a member of this beautiful community, I've witnessed the strength and resilience of our people, whether it’s gathering at local festivals or celebrating the bond we share with our ancestors. Our history is woven into the fabric of every celebration, be it Mashramani or Phagwah, reminding us of our roots and traditions.
