About AMRITA SEERAM

About Amrita Seeram

Hello! My name is Amrita Seeram, and I’m proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Living at 39 Public Road in Hibernia, I cherish the vibrant culture that defines our beautiful land. Whether it’s enjoying a plate of pepperpot on special occasions or taking leisurely strolls along the stunning shores of Lake Mainstay, every experience reminds me of the rich heritage we share. It’s not just the food that connects us; it’s the spirit of our communities, where black and brown friendships thrive and foster a sense of unity amidst our diverse backgrounds.

As a resident of this picturesque region in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I often reflect on the tales my grandmother shared about her mixed heritage, much like many others in our community. Her stories of growing up surrounded by Indian and Scottish influences resonate deeply with me. I believe that understanding our roots, including the history of Essequibo, is essential in shaping our future. My hope is that we can inspire a shift in mentality, fostering a greater sense of care and responsibility for our environment and each other.

Join me in celebrating our culture, whether through exploring our lush landscapes, enjoying the local cuisine, or simply sharing stories that bind us. Together, we can build a brighter future for the next generations, honoring the past while looking forward with hope and determination.
