About ANAN PERSAUD

About Anan Persaud

Hello! I’m Anan Persaud, a proud resident of 28 Vive-La-Force West, nestled in the beautiful Essequibo Islands-West Demerara. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has deeply shaped my identity. Whether it's the rhythmic sounds of the river or the aroma of a freshly cooked pepperpot wafting through the air, my heart beats to the rhythm of our unique culture. I cherish my roots and the stories that connect us—from the bustling markets of Georgetown to the serene beauty of the Pomeroon River.

As a member of the diaspora, I often reflect on the rich experiences that define us as Guyanese—our warm hospitality, the lively celebrations of Mashramani, and the resilience that has carried us through generations. I’m also keenly aware of the dialogues that surround us, including our territorial history with Venezuela, which remind us of the importance of unity and respect among neighboring countries. The connection to our homeland runs deep, and I proudly carry these conversations with me wherever I go.

In my everyday life, I enjoy sharing the flavors of our cuisine and the stories behind our traditions with friends and family. Whether it’s gathering for a Sunday cook-up or reminiscing about the beauty of places like Manawarin and Kabakaburi, I aim to keep our heritage alive. Together, let us celebrate the spirit of Guyana, embracing our past while looking forward to a bright future!
