Hello! I'm Anand Das, a joiner based in the heart of the Essequibo Coast, specifically at 12 Henrietta Anna in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes that define Guyana, I've always had a deep appreciation for our rich culture and heritage. From the vibrant festivities of Mashramani to the soothing sounds of the flowing rivers, like the Yarashirima and those near St. Monica, my life has been a journey through the beauty that our homeland offers.
As a proud Guyanese, I take immense pride in our local cuisine, especially dishes such as pepperpot and roti, which remind me of family gatherings and community celebrations. The flavors of our food are as diverse as our people, creating a unique experience that brings us together. My work as a joiner allows me to connect with others and contribute to building spaces where memories are made, just like those cherished moments shared at the Kai-chore Falls or during fishing trips along the River Grant Diamond Lower.
Though I may be rooted here in Guyana, I carry the stories and lessons of our diaspora with me, embracing the connections we have forged worldwide.
