Hello, and welcome! My name is Andrew Persaud, and I proudly call the Garden Essequibo Coast my home. As a fisherman, I've spent countless hours navigating the rivers and creeks of this beautiful region, nurturing my passion for the bountiful waters of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Every catch tells a story, from the fresh fish we share with family around the dinner table to the camaraderie forged with fellow fishermen. There's nothing quite like a good cook-up of fried fish and rice, seasoned just right with local spices to bring everyone together.
Growing up here, I’ve seen the rich culture of Guyana flourish, from vibrant festivals to the warmth of our community. Whether it's enjoying a Sunday cookout with friends or celebrating Diwali with colorful lights and sweets, the connection to our roots is strong. Our culture is not just about what we eat; it's about the people we share it with. I take pride in being part of a diaspora that works hard to ensure our traditions live on, even while some of us venture abroad. Big respect to all my fellow Guyanese, whether near or far!
