Living in the serene Sera Lodge Housing area of the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, I find joy in the vibrant culture and rich history that surround me. There's truly nothing quite like sharing a meal with family and friends, especially when it includes a trip to one of our cherished eateries, like La Unica Caridad, which many fondly remember despite its recent closure.
As a resident of this lovely region, I am deeply connected to the stories and traditions that shape our identity. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and rivers, such as the famous River Cocorite, I've come to appreciate the natural beauty that Guyana has to offer. My roots run deep here, reflecting the diverse ancestry that includes indigenous, African, Indian, and Chinese heritage. This cultural melting pot has given me a unique perspective on life, fostering a sense of community that I cherish dearly.
