Greetings from Essequibo! My name is Anika Daziel, a proud resident of Vergenoegen East, located in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up by the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, I’ve been deeply influenced by the vibrant community and rich culture that surrounds me. The sounds of the river and the aroma of traditional dishes, like duck curry from the famed Jackdashe restaurant, are a constant reminder of our shared heritage and the flavors of home that I cherish.
Having lived in various parts of Guyana, including the picturesque St. Monica and the tranquil settlements along the Lower Pom River, I’ve developed a profound appreciation for our diverse landscapes and cultural expressions.
