As a second-generation Guyanese, I often find myself bridging the gap between my roots and the experiences of my community abroad. I’ve met many curious souls who, like one of my college classmates, are surprised to learn that Guyana has a rich history and a government that’s been shaped by diverse cultures. It’s fascinating to see how our diaspora stays connected, and I love sharing stories of our traditions, festivals, and the warmth of our people.
