Welcome! My name is Anjali Mekchand, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the Golden Fleece Estate, I am deeply connected to both the lush landscapes and vibrant communities that define our region. Known for its stunning rivers and rich biodiversity, Essequibo is more than a location; it’s a way of life that celebrates everything from our traditional bakes to the dynamic flavors of local Chinese cuisine, often hailed as the best in South America.
As a resident of Guyana, I embrace our Caribbean identity with pride. Despite the dense tropical bush that separates us from the rest of South America, we Guyanese remain a part of the broader Caribbean community. Our culture is a unique blend of influences, from our diverse heritage to our delicious culinary traditions that resonate in every household.
