Greetings! My name is Anjannie Ragoobar, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled 46 East of Public Road, in the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I embrace the rich cultural heritage that defines our beautiful Guyana. From the lush landscapes dotted with the iconic towering trees to the flowing waters of our rivers, every aspect of my surroundings fuels my love for this land. I take great joy in preparing traditional dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, which often bring family and friends together to share stories and laughter.
As a housewife, I dedicate my time to nurturing my family while also engaging with our local community. My roots run deep, and I cherish the connections we have with the Guyanese diaspora around the world. It's heartwarming to see how our culture resonates with others, whether it's through music like chutney or the vibrant celebrations during Mashramani. I often reminisce about the stories of my ancestors, who shaped our identity and instilled in me a sense of pride in being Guyanese. Like many, I have dreams of traveling to places like Surinam to explore our borders, further appreciating the richness of our shared heritage.
Despite the challenges we face, including the occasional misunderstandings among our diverse ethnic groups, I firmly believe that our unity is our strength. We are a community that continues to evolve, while holding onto the essence of who we are. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
