Hello! I’m Ann Williams, a proud daughter of Guyana, hailing from the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My roots are deeply embedded in the rich culture of our land, where the lush landscapes meet the flowing waters of the Pomeroon River. Growing up near the River Karawab, I carry the essence of my homeland wherever I go, whether it’s through the tantalizing flavors of our traditional dishes like pepperpot or the warmth of our community gatherings filled with laughter and music.
Currently, I find myself navigating the ever-expanding Guyanese diaspora, connecting with friends and family who share a love for our culture, no matter where we are in the world. I often reminisce about the unique experiences that define our identity, from the bustling markets of Georgetown to the serene beauty of Bamboo Hill. Each encounter with my fellow Guyanese, whether in Canada, the US, or back home, strengthens our bond and reminds me of the shared journey we all embark on, regardless of where life takes us.
