About ANN DEFREITAS

About Ann DeFreitas

Hello and welcome! My name is Ann DeFreitas, and I proudly call Essequibo 240 Railway Line Parika home. Nestled in the lush landscape of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my roots run deep in this beautiful region, where the mighty Essequibo River flows. I cherish the vibrant culture that shapes our daily lives, from sharing a plate of pepperpot at family gatherings to indulging in some good old-fashioned marmite, just like my sister does!

Living here, I often find myself reflecting on the warmth of our community. Whether it’s discussing the latest happenings in River Grant Triumph Lower or reminiscing about our adventures in Upper Pomeroon, the connections we share are what make this place special. I believe that even while living far from home, like many in our diaspora, we carry a piece of Guyana in our hearts, keeping our traditions and stories alive.

As a resident of this beautiful land, I invite you to explore the richness of our culture and the resilience of our people. Whether through food, music, or community events, there's always something that brings us together. Feel free to reach out and share your own experiences or simply connect over the love for our homeland!
