Living in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I embrace the colorful culture and rich traditions that Guyana has to offer. From savoring the flavors of our beloved cook-up rice and pepperpot to enjoying lively gatherings with family and friends, the warmth of our community is truly special. And yes, I can’t help but chuckle when I hear someone attempt to pronounce our local names—it's all part of the fun!
By day, I serve as a sales clerk, connecting with customers and sharing the joys of our local products. I believe that each interaction is an opportunity to showcase the unique spirit of Guyana, even if some folks still think we’re an island in the Caribbean! Though we may not fit the typical island mold, our spirit and resilience shine through, especially in these times when so many of us are navigating the challenges back home and abroad. It’s a reminder that no matter where we go, our roots run deep.
