Hello! My name is Anthony Adrian, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of Mission in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. As a miner, I spend my days working the rich lands that my ancestors have tilled for generations. The beauty of our lush rainforest and the mighty rivers, like the Pomeroon River, remind me of the strength and resilience of our people. I find joy in sharing stories over a bowl of pepperpot or a plate of metemgee, which are staples of our local cuisine.
Growing up in Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our cultural heritage, from the folklore that echoes through the bush to the rhythms of our traditional music. I often reminisce about the lively celebrations during Mashramani when the streets come alive with color and music. Like many from our diaspora, I carry the warmth of our community wherever I go, cherishing connections with both those at home and the Guyanese scattered across the globe.
