Hello! My name is Anuradha Kissoonlall, and I am proud to call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. Living on the Essequibo Coast, I am surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture that define our beloved Guyana. Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich heritage, from the mouthwatering taste of our national dish, pepperpot, to the serene beauty of River Karawab Creek, where I often find solace and inspiration.
As a resident of this wonderful country, I am acutely aware of the challenges we face, including the recent economic changes brought on by oil discovery. Many of our talented folks have sought opportunities abroad, yet I remain committed to contributing to my community. I believe in the potential of our educated youth and the importance of nurturing a trusting environment to foster growth and development within Guyana. The spirit of resilience and camaraderie among us is what keeps our diaspora connected, reminding us that we share a collective identity and responsibility to uplift one another.
My journey reflects the essence of being Guyanese—celebrating our diverse cultures, such as the rich Bhojpuri influences found within our communities, while also embracing the broader Caribbean identity that enriches our lives.
