Hello! My name is Archaelus Hendricks, and I proudly call River Asakabora Island in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a dedicated labourer, I embrace the hard work that comes with our lush landscapes and vibrant communities. From the sweet aroma of fresh cook-up rice to the laughter echoing along the banks of our rivers, there’s nothing quite like the spirit of our people and the flavors of our food that bring us together.
My heart is deeply rooted in the culture of our beautiful country. I often reminisce about gathering with friends and family at St. Chads Mission, where we share stories, food, and the warmth of our connections. Whether it's fishing in the River Sting Ray Creek or enjoying a hearty meal of cassava bread on our Lower Pom River, these experiences shape who I am. I cherish the sense of community that thrives here and know that, despite being a part of the diaspora, our bonds are never truly severed.
