Greetings from the heart of Essequibo! My name is Ariana Misir, and I proudly call the Essequibo 4 North Housing Scheme home. Nestled in the lush landscape of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my community is a vibrant blend of cultures, echoing the warm spirit of our beautiful Guyana. There's nothing quite like sharing a plate of dhal pourie paired with goat curry, or savoring the spicy kick of beef curry with pepper sauce alongside a generous helping of fried bajee. These meals not only nourish us but also strengthen our bonds, as we often come together to celebrate important festivals or simply to enjoy each other's company. I believe that the essence of our Guyanese culture shines through in these moments, whether we're reminiscing about our roots or exploring new horizons with our diaspora community abroad.
In my daily life, I draw inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes around us, from the mighty Essequibo River to the serene beauty of our local parks.
