Living in Guyana, I've often felt like one of those "weird kids in the class" as we navigate our unique position in South America. While we may not be the most recognized country on the continent, our connections to the Caribbean echo through every conversation. I cherish the camaraderie with my neighbors, sharing stories and laughter while enjoying a good plate of pepperpot or fresh catch from the river. The warmth of our culture and the resilience of our people shape the essence of who I am.
Though I may be physically located far from the larger cities, the essence of Guyana travels with me wherever I go.
