Hello! I’m Asha Singh, a proud housewife living on the beautiful Essequibo Coast, right along the 142 Public Road in Hampton, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in the rich soil of Guyana, where the vibrant culture and warm spirit of our people nourish my everyday life. From sharing traditional meals like pepperpot and roti with family to enjoying lively gatherings during Mashramani, I cherish the moments that bring us together as a community.
Guyana, often overlooked, is a gem in South America! The stunning vistas of the Essequibo River and the lush rainforests fill my heart with pride. I watch with excitement as our country grows, especially with the recent developments in the oil sector. Yet, I also hold dear the memories of our past, like the stories passed down through generations of Indo-Guyanese, African-Guyanese, and other vibrant cultures that shape our identity. I believe our diversity makes us stronger, and it’s essential to share this story with the world.
As much as I adore my homeland, I understand the connection we have with the diaspora.
