Hello! I’m Ashana Griffith, a proud resident of the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically from the vibrant community of Devonshire. Growing up in Guyana has shaped my identity, infusing me with the warmth of our culture, the richness of our diverse foods, and a deep appreciation for the stunning landscapes that surround us. From the lush greenery of the Pomeroon River to the bustling markets filled with the aroma of curry and fresh fruits, I cherish every moment spent in my homeland, which is a true gem of the Caribbean.
Having lived in various places, I proudly carry the spirit of Guyana wherever I go. The bonds formed within our diaspora are strong, as we often share stories of our homeland, whether it’s reminiscing about a hearty plate of pepperpot or eagerly awaiting the next cultural event that connects us back to our roots.
