Greetings from the lush landscapes of East Bank Essequibo, where I, Asif Ramzan, cultivate not just crops but a love for the rich heritage of Guyana. Farming is my livelihood, rooted deep in the fertile soils of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Here, amidst the vibrant greenery, I grow a variety of fruits and vegetables that reflect our diverse flavors, from succulent cassava to the sweet taste of ripe mangoes, that remind us of home.
Being part of a community that cherishes our culture, I often reminisce about the festive gatherings filled with the aroma of pepperpot and metemgee, where laughter and stories are shared among family and friends. I also feel a strong connection to our diaspora, as they embrace our traditions and spread the warmth of Guyanese hospitality even beyond our shores.
