Hello! I am Avinash Bacchus, a proud resident of the vibrant community at Coast 7 Public Road Mocha in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and rich cultures of our beautiful nation, I have always had a deep appreciation for the things that make Guyana unique—from the breathtaking views of the Kaieteur Falls to the melodic sounds of our local music. The warmth of our people and the aroma of our beloved dishes, such as pepperpot and metemgee, are constant reminders of home.
As someone who values our connections both near and far, I understand the longing of the diaspora to return home. It resonates with me when I hear comments from fellow Guyanese expressing their desire to visit. Just like many, I cherish the hope of reuniting with family and creating new memories in the land that holds our hearts. The recent advent of direct flights, such as Air Transat's connection from Toronto to Guyana, shows that our nation still invites those overseas to come back and explore.
