Hello! My name is Avinash Dat, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Living in the vibrant community of 12 Market Dam in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I’m deeply connected to the rich cultural heritage of Guyana. From the lush landscapes and the mighty Essequibo River to the delicious local dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, my life here is a celebration of the natural beauty and culinary delights that Guyana has to offer.
As a resident, I often find myself reflecting on how we, as Guyanese, can better share our stories with the world. It's true that sometimes we struggle to explain the essence of our homeland to visitors, but that only makes me more passionate about showcasing the warm spirit and resilience of our people. From the small towns where laughter fills the air to the bustling markets where you'll find the freshest produce, I believe there's so much to love and appreciate about our way of life.
