Hello! I'm Azizi Christiani, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically from the vibrant community of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the lush greenery meets the serene waters of the Pomeroon River. Growing up surrounded by the rich culture of Guyana, I've developed a great appreciation for our local cuisine, especially dishes like pepperpot and metemgee, which are as diverse as our people. Having lived here all my life, I hold a special connection to our colonial-style houses and the natural beauty that defines our surroundings. It's important to me that we celebrate Guyana's unique identity rather than conforming to outside influences. I often find myself reminiscing about the vibrant colors of our festivals, such as Mashramani, where the spirit of our communities shines through music, dance, and the joy of togetherness. It’s a celebration of our diversity, bringing together Indo-Guyanese, Afro-Guyanese, and Indigenous cultures that coexist harmoniously.
