Hello! I’m Balwant Persaud, an electrician proudly based on the beautiful Essequibo Coast in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in a vibrant community, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the diverse cultures that shape our land, from the rich traditions of our Indigenous peoples to the unique flavors of our local cuisine. Living near the Essequibo River, I often find solace in its winding paths and the lush landscapes that surround it. It’s a treasure that connects us to nature and our ancestors. For me, respecting our wildlife is paramount; I believe in protecting our environment for future generations. The ongoing discussions about land rights resonate deeply, as many of our native brothers and sisters rely on these lands for their livelihoods. We must continue to advocate for their rights and ensure that their homes are preserved.
