Hello! My name is Barvindran Persaud, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled at the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my roots run deep in the vibrant culture of Guyana. As a labourer, I am dedicated to my work, drawing strength from the rich heritage of my community, where the mighty Essequibo River flows and brings life to our lands. My heart beats for the sweet, spicy flavors of our local cuisine, especially the mouthwatering dishes that remind me of family gatherings where laughter and stories flow as freely as the rivers around us.
Being a part of the Guyanese diaspora means sharing the warmth of our culture with the world. I cherish the connections I have with fellow Guyanese, whether it's reminiscing about life in Pomeroon or discussing the latest developments back home. The spirit of our people is strong, and I often reflect on the humorous side of life, like when someone jokingly says, "You want somebody bugga your mother!"—a light-hearted reminder of the camaraderie we share.
